ISADA: I Stand Against Substance Abuse

A two-year, school-based advocacy pilot programme reaching senior high school students across Ghana.

ISADA is a groundbreaking school-based advocacy initiative led by HARP, designed to empower young people - particularly senior high school students - to make informed choices, resist drug abuse, and transform into positive change agents within their communities.

Recognising that substance abuse - particularly marijuana use - remains a critical challenge among Ghanaian youth, with experimentation beginning as early as 10-12 years, ISADA takes a proactive preventive approach: reaching students at the crucial decision-making stage of their lives, combining evidence-based education, peer support systems, and lived experience to create lasting behavioural change.
