Our Logo & Heritage

HARP stands for HeFA Addiction Recovery Place, and our emblem is the ancient instrument "harp" - a symbol deeply rooted in history and healing.

"The harp is an ancient instrument dating back as far as the time of King David, who, as yet a boy, was anointed to be king of Israel..."

King David used this sacred instrument to treat King Saul of his recurrent mental health breakdowns, bringing calm and serenity to the troubled king. This powerful biblical account demonstrates one of the earliest recorded instances of music therapy - a practice we proudly continue today.

The Power of Music in Recovery

One effective way of creating inner peace through reflection is through music, and HARP is dedicated to using music therapy as part of its recovery model. The harp instrument serves as our guiding symbol, representing the healing power of music and the restoration of harmony in life.

However, we recognize that the same instrument is used in highlighting alcoholic beverages like Guinness - a common and readily accessible drink. As HARP focuses primarily on drug and alcohol rehabilitation, addiction treatment, and mental health research, we deliberately emphasize recovery in a positive frame of reference using the harp instrument.

🎼 Our Symbol of Hope

Simply put: HARP refers to King David's harp - an instrument of healing, peace, and divine intervention. This distinguishes our mission from commercial associations, anchoring our identity in the timeless tradition of music as medicine for the soul.
